Colonic Irrigation

Written on June 8th in Information

“Death Begins in the Colon” so wrote Dr. Bernard Jensen D.C., in his book “The Doctor-Patient Handbook”. Every part of the 5-6 ft. long colon has an effect on different parts and organs of the body. Dr. Jensen found for example that intensive cleansing of one particular part of his own colon brought relief to a long-standing pain in his left hip which had not been helped through other more conventional therapies. Removal of a diseased section of the colon resulted in healing of a lady’s goiter. We have found that by employing simple cleansing of the colon, clients experience feelings of well-being, more energy, physical conditions improve especially those relating to the digestion. The therapy, reinforced with a greater knowledge of good nutrition, and healthy lifestyle can help clients have long-term improvements in health. The immune system is improved leading to greater safeguards against viruses and pathogenic bacteria. Complete nutrition may require vitamin and mineral supplements. For additional information go to: www.adenatrevor.com.The colon irrigation is a simple thorough cleansing of the colon using purified water. The process takes an hour. It consists of introducing water into the colon through the anus, using a small tube. A “Y” connection allows fecal waste to be discharged through tubing into the plumbing system. The tip of the applicator is warmed and lubricated making insertion easier and more comfortable. All equipment that comes into contact with the client is thoroughly scrubbed and then steam sterilized after each use.

Prior to the initial colonic irrigation the client will fill out a questionnaire which will be reviewed, questions will be answered and the process explained. Wearing only a gown the client then lies on a padded table. Lying on the left side with the knees drawn up, the speculum is inserted and a small amount of water is introduced into the colon. Once the colonic is underway the client lies on the back, and the therapist will massage the abdomen to encourage the discharge of feces. The amount of water introduce is regulated according to the comfort of the client. Occasionally the client may experience some cramping, similar to diarrhea, but the cramps will last only a short time. On the completion of the colonic acidophilus is inserted through the same tubing. Acidophilus is the friendly bacteria, which is normally present in the colon. It is essential for colon health, and the insert will replace any acidophilus which has been expelled through the cleansing.

Once completed the speculum is removed and the client will then go to the washroom, and when ready will get dressed. After the colonic clients feel lighter and cleaner inside. Sometimes they feel that they have lost weight.

Frequency of colonics depends on the results. If a client is very constipated colonics only a few days apart are recommended. Usually, a minimum of five colonics are required but more may be necessary. Clients benefit from having colonics on a regular basis several times annually.
